Try to clean it with rubbing alcohol and a qtip or tissue paper. see what cleans off.

Ok i sent my ecu to Tanin today and i sent the defective one back so i can get a refund..now the wait begins..

Tanin is pretty quick turnaround. Mine was back in 7 days from when I sent it. Glad you decided to go with Tanin, they seem to do a wonderful job.

it doesn't look to bad I would think you can clean most of that off and the traces would be fine so Tanin should probably be able to do it, but you can see why you are having problems. that other guy is just being extra cautious but a little cleaning will probably go a long way here.

You are correct in that one of the signs of a faulty ecu is the check engine light not operating on key on for a second. Sometimes people pull the check engine light bulb out of the cluster though so only if the bulb is in and you know it used to work does that tell you there is some issue with the ecu.

just a quick update , I got the ECU back from tanin yesterday and everything is good to go! I even got my OD back which is just awesome . Thanks to Tanin and everyone who helped me. It gets discouraging after 2 months of chasing codes and not being able to drive my baby.. on a side note i managed to get a trunk with oem spoiler for $50 and two almost perfect front seats,driver door panel,armrest and headlights for only $100. So my interior is darn near flawless now.
