interior window panel -- will this fit?
A follow up to a post of mine from a couple of weeks ago. I located a used, tan, interior panel that frames the front, driver's side window and holds the tweeter. It arrived via Ebay today. It appears damaged in a way that was not described on the listing. But these are so hard to find, if it will work, I won't send it back.
It appears that the piece originally had five bolt holes, for lack of a better word, at the base where I assume it attaches to the interior of the door. On the used piece I purchased the three center bolt holes are broken off. The two on either end are still in tact.
As is, will this still fit? If not, is there a way to repair it by attaching a washer to the metal base, essentially replacing the missing holes?
Hope that makes sense.

It'll "fit," but it may not be held on as snug as you want. It's a really common spot for them to break, being a very weak point in a very weak overall design. (I have nothing but contempt for the plastic parts used in the SC's interior. Worst quality stuff I've seen on any car I own.) People have done various things to fix them up, such as foil tape, epoxying plastic fragments back together, or gluing on bent metal strips.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. And I agree with you on the quality of interior parts. My 22 year old coupe's engine drives like the day I got it. But I've replaced the interior door panels, twice, and the seats, twice. And this piece has a crack in the frame, and i can see the the leather (vinyl) worn on the opposite side of the crack, in the same place as the existing panel, except my current one is torn.
