what year is the SC? the reason I asked cause if it has the VVTI engine then changing it will be prudent every 90K.
If it is the non VVTI then is non interference engine meaning that if it breaks there will be no internal damage.
what engine is in it??

Don't worry about it. 44,000 miles is nothing on a belt replaced 12 years ago.

On my 1996 it was never done until I hit 135K, and that was in 2014. I also replaced a belt on a 95 SC400 last year that slipped after 214,000 miles. 1995 and older is non interference, so no worries if it slips/breaks on you. 1996+ would damage the engine if it slipped, but I would push another 25-30K miles before replacing it. If you are doing this yourself and you are pretty good with cars, and can deal with the down time, then sure go for it. But if you are paying to have it done, wait a while. If you are really worried, just check it out and see what it looks like.
