Default 1993 SC300 instrument panel question

I've kept my 5-speed with under 180k miles all original and pretty clean. One of the last few items not replaced or repaired is the instrument panel. The speedometer works intermittently. And all lighted needles are dark. I see on Ebay some used panels for sale. I also see a company that will repair yours if you send it to them. What's the best approach here, keeping in mind I'm not at all mechanically inclined. Thanks

Tanin is an approved vendor here and can fix up your needles. (They also sell on eBay and might be who you saw there.) They might be able to help with the speedo, as well, but you'll want to run that by them.

You can get it rebuilt or make your own that's pretty much the decision any sc owner looks at, or deal with tapping on your dash

Tanin can repair the speedo, probably a bad stepper motor. That's what they do, so when you get ready send it to them.

I upgraded mine to the 97, Well worth it. just make sure you get a sc300 one not a sc400 lol, I have a sc400 in mine and the rpm goes way past red line and the check engine light comes on from it, but the 97 cluster is worth the troubles.

Tanin is the way to go IMO.

Search the FAQ section step by step on how to remove the cluster. Have read you can still drive the car without a cluster when it is out for repair.

Good luck.....

I'll be doing a full DIY on the speedo cluster this week from every angle. Function, lighting, etc. If you can take it out of the dash, you can do the DIY. Stay tuned.
