Default 'Streetable' SC300 Makes 9-Second Run at Rocky Mountain Race Week

This SC300 gets much of its ample power from a stout 3.0-liter 2JZ fed by a Precision 7675 CEA turbo running 40 pounds of boost.

A lot of power to only run mid 9s. My guess is it wasn't making 1000whp.

the altitude makes it challenging.

I can dig it. I enjoyed watching the street vids that have the trailer full of tires being towed behind it lol.

Most of those tracks aren't at altitude and it still only managed mid 9s @ 14X. That SC is probably making 840-860whp. If it was making 1000whp through a TH400 it would run high 8s at least.

I agree Steve. I love that SC but also thought, DAMN, all that money and work into making it a drag car to only trap 140. Something is definitely off.

The car dyno'd 921rwhp at ~32lbs and no N20. A few years ago. The Race weight is 3605lbs

The setup for 2015 was more headwork, same turbo @ 40lbs(tappering down to ~33) and 125 shot.

Pretty confident that would be north of 3 digits. In regards to altitude I monitor the DA when I race and it was hot as **** and over 90* everyday.

Day1 Bandimere - DA= 8790'
Day 2 Pueblo- DA=7795'
Day 3 Kansas- DA=4091'
Day4 Nebraska- DA=4622'
Day 5 Bandimere -DA=9037'

My personal best with the car was a 9.10@152 a month earlier. 7000+DA
Not making excuses for the car, I know the car well as I've had swapped 2jz-gte in the car since 2003. The setup is really competitive in local, 1/4mile, heads-up racing. But this is a tough event where I pulled a 1400lbs trialer over 1300 miles in 5 days.

I killed/pulled/rebuilt the th400, at the track, in the heat on the 2nd day. Gernaded my 7675 on the 4th day(you can hear the whine in the video) borrowed a spare On3 turbo at the track and drove over 400 miles back to Colorado with it rigged up. And I killed the rings on day 5.

Yes I know it seems like it should be quicker but a 3600lbs car at altitude is a 3600lbs car at altitide. With that being said this has been the quickest, street driven import in Colorado for a few years.

Awesome to see a SC so deep into the 9's either way. Kudos to you! Keep the platform alive.

Just as a suggestion, your trap speed may go up by 5mph if you switch to a 92-96 bumper

Awesome ride.

What have you done to the rear end and suspension to keep it together and launch like that? 60' times?

Thank you.

Car is currently running Stance drag suspension from MVP Motorsports, TRD Supra auto rear, stock axles. It takes a bit to find the soft enough launch to not break axles( I go through at least 4 a season) but enough that it's not a dog.
That video with the 9.10 pass is a 1.37 60'
