Stepped lip Work VSKFs
So I recently came up on a deal for a custom set of VSKFs. My first set of high end wheels. I never test fitted them and was also told the wrong specs when I bought them. I was told they would be 18x9 +25 and 18x10 +22. I figured the rear would be a tight fit and it is, since my car only has rolled fenders, and I definitely don't plan on pulling them, since the car was repainted a couple years ago and I will not be messing with the body.
But I have a bigger problem. The wheels are actually +20 offset all around. The wheels also do not clear my LS400 BBK. I have 10mm spacers that I test fitted the wheels with in the front and it pokes quite a bit because it effectively makes the wheels +10 offset. And with the spacers the wheels barely clear the caliper. I imagine if I find a 7mm spacer somewhere that would be the absolute smallest I can go and not hit the caliper, but I'm not 100% sure. I placed an order for a set on eBay today, so they should arrive next week.
So I guess my question now is would you guys recommend I sell the wheels and buy a set that actually fits, or try to make them fit? I love the wheels, but don't want to run crazy stretch and lots of camber because the car is NA-T and I like to have fun with it. Is there a way I can make these work? I have not yet bought tires for them, I just test fitted them on. I was hoping to run 235/40 in front and 265/35 rear. Oh yeah, and for some reason the wheels are stamped 5x100 but they are actually 5x114.3

I honestly feel you will be fine even if you go with your 10mm spacer up front since those clear your LS400 BBK. Do you know what DISK type your wheels are?

Hope this helps a bit. I truly don't feel you will have a lot of poke once your car is at riding height.
My rear wheels looked like it was going to have huge poke during the test fitment but turned out fine.

My wheels are currently 18x8.5 +25 in front and I have a 10mm spacer installed....you should be fine in the front as far as the rear should be good... I have 18x10 +25 right now with a 275/35/18 installed and it sometimes rubs on the sidewall when wheel gets compressed into wheel well
My fenders have all been rolled flat...and a small pull all around...I want to redo the rear again to get some more pull out of it

Thank you for the info and the pics. Your fitment is spot on, so i fear that if i poke mine out 6mm more (since i would be running +10) then i would have to run a very narrow tire up front. Lowest I'm comfortable with on a 9 inch wheel is 235/40, so im afraid it will rub a lot.
I also don't know if i should go with 255/40 or 265/35 for the rear. I just dont want to be in a situation where I spend money on tires that won't fit, because then i cant return them after i mount them. And I will not be buying cheap tires because my car is turbo and has a TT Auto diff
As far as what kind of Disk the wheels are, idk. But if they dont fit the bbk then i assume low disk?

And for the rear mine would only poke 5mm more, but my fenders are not pulled and i don't want to pull them because then the paint will crack and its a 2.5 year old paint job. And I know there was some bondo on the rear quarters when they were repainted

a 235/40/18 will work fine. You might rub going up driveways or over speed bumps with your wheels turned, but it's not that bad.
This is a 18x9 +12 with an oversized 245/40/18 on the front of my car (only picture I could find). It was a tight fit when aired out, but your car will never be that low.

I still have room I am running a 245/35/18 and plan on stepping up in spring to 255/35/18...
Are your fenders rolled...I know because you have the same wheels as me on your sc400.....and I always wondered why you run that small of a tires on it.

Isnt 245/35 too low of a profile? i have 245/40's on the front of my Z wheels and thats the best match to the OEM rolling diameter of the SC
I sure hope so. I think I will attempt to make these wheels work with the spacers.
It's most likely a mid disk if you only need a 7 to 10mm spacer.

And yeah that's the thing, I want to avoid rubbing all together, and drive aggressively and now worry about destroying a fender or a tire. But I guess there is no way to really know how they fit unless i try them on with tires.

Ok, nice. how much more clearance do you think you have in front? So if i run my 18x9 wheels with a 10mm spacer, then they will poke out 5.7mm more then what you have now
