<a href="http://s195.photobucket.com/user/emilime75/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20151107_104213_zpsz6keuevw.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z247/emilime75/Mobile%20Uploads/20151107_104213_zpsz6keuevw.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20151107_104213_zpsz6keuevw.jpg"/></a>

I've been lurking here and a couple of other sites for a couple of weeks prior to purchasing this. I just bought it today. It's a 95 SC4. I've never owned one before but have always liked them. It needs some work but the price was right and I'm looking forward to getting it back on the road. It actually runs and drives great but it has a significant oil leak coming from what appears to be the front main seal. So, in the process of replacing that $2 part I'll be doing the complete timing belt/water pump job and all that should be done while it's apart.

I saw a thread a couple of days ago that had a link to a good parts kit on ebay but I cannot find it again. Looking around, I found a couple and wanted to ask your opinion if it was good or bad.

The first one is http://www.ebay.com/itm/281137724272?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The second is http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-LS400-SC400-Complete-Timing-Belt-Water-Pump-Kit-/190545460096?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
I'm leaning towards the second kit. I know Mitsuboshi and Aisin are good, not too familiar with the rest. Are these all good quality parts, as in OEM quality?

Anyway, that's priority #1. I'd appreciate any advice anyone can share about doing this job. Thanks.

I can't say much from experience but I do know that the Toyota sells Aisin on Amazon, judging by that and the reviews I'll say it's pretty much OEM.

By the way, beautiful ride you got there.

The OEM water pump is Aisin. I would look for actual OEM parts or known upgrades for those parts for that job. A 5 minute call to a dealer parts department should get you the info you need for your list and find them on eBay.

Thanks guys. It's a nice ride with some issues, all of which I will be addressing as time and money allows. Priority #1 is the oil leak. After that will be power mirrors not working, HVAC display, keyless entry and getting a second key for it.

The paint is good, for the most part but, it has some clear coat fading on top of the rear wing and the top section of the rear bumper. I'm going to try and buff that out along with the rest of the body followed up with a good coat of wax.

The interior also has some broken parts and it's beige so I'm on the hunt for a donor car with black interior.

After that, who knows. The car is pretty quick as is.

It's got Megan Racing coil overs and the car sits really low. It looks great but I'm a little concerned with how low the oil pan is to the road. I might end up raising it back up a little.

Its got drilled/slotted rotors and I think it has larger brakes on it. Looking at the room between the calipers and the 18" wheels that are on it, I don't think the stock 16's would clear. Plus, the thing stops amazingly well.

I'll most likely replace the front wheels with ones to match the rears unless a good deal on a different set comes along.

It's also straight piped and sounds really, really good. With that said, I see myself getting tired of how loud the exhaust is after a while and will probably end up putting some mufflers on it eventually.

Aside from that, it runs and drives great. No CELs, fires right up and idles smooth and, so far, the trany feels good.

It came with a POS kenwood double din which will probably stay in for a while but, eventually, a nice system will be going in...I'm an SQ car audio guy, always end up putting a system in every car I've had. I already know subs will be a bit of a challenge considering the trunk layout and the fuel tank being where it is. Nothing I can't overcome and already have some ideas.

I'll try and document everything I do to it and learn as I go along here.

Oh, I'm also looking into installing electric radiator fans and eliminating the hydraulic stuff. Not really sure yet what that will involve or if it's even worth it but, we'll see.

Get this kit from rockauto.com
AISIN TKT030 $177 plus shipping. I just bought the same kit (well, not the same because I'm VVTi) but its VERY high quality. Too much Chinese garbage on eBay, I don't trust any parts from there due to counterfeiting.

I saw that RockAuto kit and I like the vendor. I've ordered from them in the past and have always been satisfied. The only reason for me not getting it is that I was hoping for a more complete kit. The second ebay one linked above has everything I'm looking to do right now and I thought the part manufacturers in it were good. I still haven't gotten an answer if that is true or not which is what my main question was. So, can someone take a look at the listing? It lists the brands for each part. Are they good quality parts?

Looked at that second link, other than bando and stone those are all brands that I know have really good products. Not sure on the other two but I'd venture to say they are probably of the same or close to the same quality.

Got the keyless entry working, just needed a new battery in the key/remote. If anyone is wondering, here's the battery you need if your's is dead<a href="http://s195.photobucket.com/user/emilime75/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20151108_142239_zpsjzve51tq_edit_1447117654302_zpss0f13dmi.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z247/emilime75/Mobile%20Uploads/20151108_142239_zpsjzve51tq_edit_1447117654302_zpss0f13dmi.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20151108_142239_zpsjzve51tq_edit_1447117654302_zpss0f13dmi.jpg"/></a>

Also got the power antenna working, it was just unplugged. Man I love easy fixes.

No luck on the power mirrors. All the fuses are good so I'm guessing it might be the module. Will have to look into that a little more to confirm before getting a replacement. Are all 92-00 SC3/SC4 power mirror modules interchangable? Mine is a 95 SC4.

Also, going to order the second kit linked above. Doing some research online shows all the brands in it are good, OEM quality and it's the most complete kit I could find. Hoping to have it in and done this coming weekend.
