Audio Project - UPDATED!
UPDATED 8/9/14! Project completed! See bottom of page for completed pics!
So finally going to get my audio project on my SC completed. Been super busy with other things and the family but I was able to drop off my car today at the audio shop so that my boy could finish the project.
The wife followed me in one of our other car to drop it off. Our Equus (The car to the right of the SC) got more love than the SC did!
This is not going to be a super fancy show system but just a nice simple setup with good sound.
Previously had all new speakers installed along with new wiring for all 4 speakers and power/ground/RCA's for the amp. Also had dynamat installed in the trunk, doors, and most of the interior cabin.
Here's what was previously installed:
5 1/4" Alpine SPR-50C component up front
5 1/4" Alpine SPR-50 for the rear deck
Dynamat Superlite
Front speaker installed:
Custom fabricated speaker mounts for rear speakers:
OEM speakers on Left side, New Alpine on right side with the custom mount:
Rear speaker installed:
Now to what is getting done this time around:
I'm getting the head unit, amp, sub, and back up camera installed.
My friend who is the head installer at the shop is going to make a custom enclosure for the sub. He is an awesome fabricator.
Head Unit: Alpine INE-W927HD 7" GPS Navigstion Receiver
Sub woofer: JL Audio 10W3V3
Amplifier: Alpine PDX-V9
Backup Camera: Rydeen Mobile CM1-T150B-PR

Dude, I drive a red sc 400 and an Equus. Amazing how few people know about them. Whenever I'm with customers or friends and we need to go somewhere I say "Let's just take my Hyundai". They are amazed when they ride in it.

Bankswood, you are totally correct . People are amazed at the Equus and are shocked to see how beautifully appointed the interior is, how smooth the ride is, and how much horsepower it has.
It's a beautiful car for sure! I sold my 7 series BMW after we bought the Equus because it's a better car by far!

I picked up my car last night and I'm so happy on how the work turned out and how the audio/video system both looks and sounds! Truly amazing work!!
Here is the Alpine 7" head unit:

The 10" JL Audio sub enclosed in custom enclosure (I'm glad I didn't lose much trunk space at all!):
The Alpine VDX-V9 Amp mounted under rear speaker deck area:

It's an awesom system for my needs...I wasn't going for a competition style system and I didn't want to lose my trunk in the process also.

I like the way that sub fits, I put my amp there instead thinking I was clever...
but in the end the 10" sub in the stock location just doesn't do it for me. I'm curious on building out the other fender with a box like you did, but I want access to my spare... Good build man I like it!
