Default 1997 cheap!!! Help guys

1997 sc400 blown tranny for 2k? Can probably get it for 8-9 hundred and a is300 2j with 5 speed for cheap as well 7-8 would this swap work easily ?

Is the price good? Yes. Why do you require a new engine? How many miles are on the car?

I gotta take it out comes with motor and tranny can I swap a is300 5 speed into the 1uz?

yeah the IS has a W series transmission so you need the 1uz w series transmission swap kit. there are a few on the interwebs being sold. the is300 2jz though is not going to be plug and play, has a different harness and vvti and has the weak rods which is bad if you were looking to turbocharge. I would just get the car and the trans but you will need the swap parts and its not cheap for those look that up before proceeding.

**** would a 93 ls400 tranny fit perfect I could get it for free for the blow one on the sc

it should be similar or the same, as long as that SC is really a 97 and not a 98 where it went to vvti. vvti trans is different.

Looks like it has a black interior too, which is about 1k alone. That's a great deal if you can do the work yourself.

The most fun is a full swap but it's most pricy.
Just buying a good junkyard 97' tranny would be less exciting but MUCH cheaper. A few hundred for the tranny a few hundred to drop it and swap it.

Manual swap on a 400 is 2K to 3.5K about.
