I was having some over heating problems and I was troubleshooting the problem. Car started to get hot and I pulled over into a gas station and i like many times before started cooling down the engine with water at the station. I just started when the radiator exploded and blasted me boiling water and steam. Fortunately many people saw this happen and helped any way they could until the ambulance came. Spare you most of the gorry details but sheets of skin were falling off when they came. Don't let this happen to you!
Wow, thats some scary ish. Makes me think twice about the hoses and piping that is holding back all of that boiling liquid just feet away from me everytime I pop the hood. Hope you get better without too much trauma bro.
No lie...this is exactly what would have happened to my radiator. It has a hairline crack in the exact same pattern. I replaced it with a Mishimoto unit due to my own paranoia.
I hope you're fine and also wish you a speedy recovery.
It's happened to me before on my integra, fortunately I suffered mild burns. It's a really terrible feeling, which is actually why I don't bother with plastic radiators anymore. Even my wifes car (IS300) has an aluminum ebay radiator.
Sorry to hear, hope you recover well & don't require skin grafts. This is why plastic radiators should be banned. I'm currently babying one of these pieces of crap till I have time to take my SC off the road to do all the restoration work on it. Pile of new parts, including a new 2 core copper & brass rad. Had to JB weld the one in it for time being. Thinking about getting a new BZR or FSR for second ride so I can do my SC up right. Check your radiator caps to make sure they are correct pressure & are functioning right & and inspect all old plastic crap rads for stress failure.
