Default Going to sell my 1992 SC400...

While this is probably my favorite Lexus of all time, I am going to be parting ways. I have sunk a lot of money into this car and had the car running good, but then it started having issues with the check engine lights, and then the transmission started slipping and acting weird, etc.

I just can't see sinking more money into this car. It needed some TLC when I got it, and now it needs even more. I'm tired of it sitting in my garage and someone can probably fix it up and if nothing else, use it for parts.

Now the big question, how much should I sell it for? Blue title, about 120K miles, loaded, original sticker, Texas car, paint is starting to fade on rear bumper and rood, front bumper has damage on the bottom...

Thoughts? It is worth more in parts, but I'm not going to part it out and end up with a chasis in my garage.

So, help me out, how much should I ask for it?

I was gonna list it for $1,200 or $1,000 here locally in the classifieds. There are plenty of good parts in the car, but also someone might want the body/chasis, etc. for a race car...who knows.

Tranny slipping could be caused by the ECU. I would sit on it a little longer before you just get rid of it. Could be an easier fix then you think. Or it could be a nightmare, but doesn't hurt to get a few more opinions before you do.

700 bucks, too many issues...consider parting it out.

This. I can tell you the transmission isn't slipping due to major mechanical failure, most likely the ECU. Especially with 120k miles, I have never seen an SC400 tranny go out at under 200k, much less ever. Just gotta know the car and do a lil research. Seriously, these transmissions are bullet proof. They don't go out at 120k. (unless severely abused.)
