Part out the good parts or buy another sc and swap anything you need over and sell the extra parts to recoupe money.

i cant part it out because i have no where to store it or the parts. i cant swap because there is no point way to much money. i might just try and sell it on craigslist and go buy another. my father wont be happy i just gave him my sc and now i am going to take it back. sure he will be thrilled about that. i might just see about doing some rust removal and go from there. the lca's i dont care about i can get new its the subframe and engine mounts that i am more worried about.

I think if I was in your situation I would just drive it till things start to fail when it gets to much money to fix just move on and cut your loss

So if I were to drive it till it falls apart I should do something to keep it as long as possible. Mechanic said to spray that shot they use on truck beds. I want to clean it up first then use some rustolium then spray that. I think it would give me the most life from the car. Of I don't clean it up first it will eat through faster. If I clean it use rust prohibitive and then cover it with the black stuff I should have it last for years.

Thoughts?

cheap solution, get a wire wheel, get rid of the loose rust, then paint with these:

driving it till it falls apart is waste of time and money.

there are so many SC's out there for sale that dont have rust...... buy one of those.

Ramps didn't think of that great idea thank you.

buying another SC that doesn't have rust is also a great idea but money is not exactly growing on trees for me. i would need to sell this one pray my dad doesn't need his car for the time it takes to buy another. i also don't have the title for another 2 weeks at least and i need to buy another quickly one without rust would require me to go well outside of NYC to make sure that doesn't happen. I also can really lose to much money on the deal because i wouldn't have enough for the next car.

I am in a tough spot.

maybe doing some cheap preventative maintenance would give me enough time to find a buyer and a good car to replace this one with. so unless you know some one who want a project saying buy another is easier said than done.
