Default Can anyone tell me what these plugs in the seat belts do?

So Im in the process of my interior swap and just ran into a problem. I went to change out the seat belts and my plug from 97 sc won't plug into the ones from the 92. My question is what is this plug and what does it do? Thanks

More than likely its a difference in the tension reduction. The 97 seatbelts also have an explosive device that tensions the seat belt during a collision.

Thanks. I guess the 92-96 seat belts won't interchange with 97+. Well at least the 92's won't.
