Default New Guy

Hey all, thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Tory. I just recently purchased my fiancé a SC400. Have a lot of Toyota/Lexus Experience, own a performance/race shop in Daytona Beach FL. I have a number of MR2's and few other Toyota's myself. We just recently built a SC400 race car that has done very well (R154 paired to a 1UZ monster I built), got to thinking the car would make the future wifey a nice car. Just picked one up today (its a 1995), of course these cars are often far from perfect. The motor and trans are sound but in the next year or so I am probably going to grab a Soarer motor (non EGR 1UZ) from one of our JDM engine suppliers do a decent build on it, maybe put a Infinity in as well (probably not doing a R154 swap but she did seem to like the idea so maybe...) Going to put some Supra TT Koni yellow struts on it with the Supra lowering springs (one of my questions later on). Have a little interior work to do, dash and carpet are good but the seats are a bit hard and need to be re upholstered or replaced. Have my eye out for a cheap SC with good tan interior (car is crimson red (Don't know if thats the name Lexus used for it)).

Now on to the questions: Struts and springs... In our race car per the rules we had to use stock springs and struts but in this I have no issue going with the supra stuff since its a street car. I do not want to run coilers on the car, nor do I plan on deviating from the stock wheel and tire size. Would I be able to run the Supra TT lowering springs on the reciprocating struts with no rubbing issues. Was looking at running the Eibach springs. Any info on this by someone who knows how much those springs lower would be helpful.

Next I am on the lookout for some parts. First it looks like somebody removed the amplifier from the car in the trunk. The car has the Nacamichi system in it and I am having a hard time sourcing an replacement amplifier. I plan on putting a Pioneer touchscreen headunit (something like a BT3200 like I have in my MR2) in but I would prefer to leave the rest alone.. Does anyone have a parts car or an extra amp laying around?

Last I am also looking for a HVAC unit since the one in the car has a busted display... Any help there would be appreciated as well.

Have yet to look in the junkyard for the HVAC but SC's are slim pickins around here...

Anyways looking forward to talking to you guys over here.

Welcome! HVAC screens can be replaced for $75 by Tanin here on Club Lexus. Better than spending 150 + for a used one.

To answer your question yes, supra springs and struts are a bolt on modification. It's better than stock all around for performance.
