I was curious, with it approaching 150k miles, what all should I look out for while maintaining this motor? Going from VW to Lexus is kind of a big change for me.

Also, the motor was rebuilt and I was wondering if anyone knew how to correct the mileage on the odometer, or how to reprogram so it reflects the correct Miles? If not, does anyone have a gauge cluster for sale that is as close to 150k and below as possible.

Here is a photo of the motor too. Sorry for the potato quality photos.

Welcome, how are you? I actually know nothing about the six, we could buy only the SC400 in Canada. But I'm looking forward to see what you end up doing.

There is a sticky at the top of the forum with links to various threads, I'd start looking at these:

:shrugs:

More pictures to come soon. Car will need a new interior pretty much, door paneling, etc.

I'm just stoked about the V6. Now if anyone could actually answer my questions from above, that'd be awesome!

It's a 3.0 litre not a 2.
And we have a classifieds section where we sell all our used parts, you might be able to find a cluster there because you can't change the reading. Otherwise hitting up a local yard is your next option.

..you've also posted in the wrong section, there's a Build section this will get moved to. Otherwise read the above listed link to familiarize yourself with the site, and get rid of those Prelude wheels!!!!

That's not a v6 and at 150k miles NA I honestly don't understand why it would have been rebuilt already. Many members have surpassed 300k miles with boost on it. The majority of these 2JZ's, especially unboosted, will surpass 200k miles without ever being opened. Any particular reason yours was rebuilt already and how certain are you that it was?

Well, previously before the last owner, some teenager owned it and never changed the oil, eventually blew the motor. So the person before me replaced the motor. I'm not sure whether to be certain or not it was "rebuilt" but the car runs like a top.

Good luck and we look forward to seeing boost on it!

You didn't say you wanted boost?

Just wait, You will.

Do not reset the odometer just because it has a new motor. The car itself still has the mileage indicated and trying to pass it off as anything else is odometer fraud.

Also, welcome to CL. Did you take those with a Polaroid?

Oh I am almost positive I will want to boost it.

Right now I drive a 2010 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition with the 2.0 TSI that needs to be garaged... She is getting too nice to daily. She is making 269hp/343LB-FT to the wheels. But since I added full 3" exhaust, intake, etc, I'm sure its a bit more. So at this point I figured a FAST beater would be the right way to go.

I know it isn't a Lexus, but here is a picture of her. Hopefully going to get this Lexus in the same shape/"style" my VW is...

And I didnt take it with a polaroid, the lighting was just horrible. haha.

More pictures will come Friday "Hopefully".

Some SC300's where available in Canada between 1998-2000 in very limited numbers, I've seen a few in Toronto.
