Default 1998 Sc400 factory TRD badging?

Hey guys. Asked StudioGeek what the badge on both sides if my front skirts was. Took pics just now (excuse the dirt) and it days TRD Racing Development.

Did these come on all 98+ Sc400's?

Nope, first time in all my years on the forum that I've ever seen that. Likely the previous owner put them there.

Possibly. I think the car was from Connecticut before making it to Illinois. Has had a couple owners before me.

Just wondering. Looked kind if cool and wasn't sure if it was factory.

Unfortunately that is an emblem that plagues ebay. Im looking at them right now for $5.88. It would be nice if there was a limited TRD run of the SC's, but I have never seen one, and if by chance they did exists, Im sure the Soarer would have been the candidate vs. the SC

I did ask to excuse the dirt. Doesn't stay clean long. Ordered a cover for it. Will wash and wax it later.

I have pics in my first thread, but will take more later as well as a video.

But they do look kick a** in a suddle way.

This was after the first little wash a week or so ago. The driver side mirror was folded I believe, if it looks weird.

I would take it off. I know it Toyota authentic badge but it doesn't look right on the Lexus.

I have to disagree. Thats like suggesting all those with SC's to remove the Soarer Griffon or Soarer badges. Keep in mind, regardless what emblem it has on the exterior, these cars are stamped 1000's of times over Toyota.

OP, I think it adds a nice touch, and I would simply base a build around the badges. Find rare OEM Soarer parts, and keep it all OEM and clean.

That's a great idea. He**, might not tint the windows for a while.

And looking at old pics from the first owner, it had the badge then as well. So the first owner installed CO's, Borla Exhaust & the emblem. It is so suddle, but once you notice it, it is a nice little touch.

I wouldnt change any of the "Lexus" or "SC" badges. Keep it Lexus, but find rare items like the Soarer parking pole, the Soarer factory folding mirrors with the correct interior switch, and although not pretty the OEM Soarer 15" wheels (not to daily on, just to have), and a set of the OEM front window visors. That paired with a subtle drop will set it apart..and to take it a step further, find the rear window with the factory rear wiper

Has nothing to do with looking like a grandma, the US based SC never got the parking pole and its a pretty rare item here in the states. Any SC owner here in the states could appreciate the addition of an OEM feature that was not offered here.
