I've owned my '95 SC 300 12+ years (July of 2002, w/ 68K miles). It has gone from the my daily in its first couple years to a garage queen as the fleet has expanded. Finally had W58 Conversion done last April, now closing in on 94K miles, minor issues typical to all SCs and maintenance. Love it more than ever!

I have owned mine also since 2002, and have had a few great years and mostly bad ones at no fault of the car. It ran perfectly until the starter went out one day and the dealer replaced it, it didn't run after that. They told me to get lost. I put a lot into it restoring it over the last ten years since that day trying to get it back to new.

Today it runs and looks better than it did when I bought it, but the journey hurts when it hits you that hard. 265K miles and runs better than most new cars. I like my car but it's not worth that much trouble. Weird thing is, the sentimental value is so high does not match the price tag. I don't know why I couldn't just kick it to the curb and buy something else. I mean I wanted to, I thought about it, but could never just make the decision to pull the trigger and buy something else. Bittersweet.

If I worked on my own car perhaps this would be a better story. Never have your car worked on by just anyone. Not even the dealer. Get a specialist for these cars only and never take it to anyone else unless you do all the work yourself...just my little advice.

Duck05 your car is gorgeous.

All the cars I want to replace it with are $70K-100K+ with one exception.

Hey Glorious your SC is a good looking car :-)

I've owned my 93 TT SC400 since the spring of '04 so I'm just over 10years.
I wish I could say she has never broken down, but I'm pushing 20+ lbs of boost to the motor. and making a little over 600 to the rear tires.
That might have something to do with it.

Looks like I'm in with some real good company.

SC owner since 2000. Soon I'll be eligible for historic plates in VA.

10 years with my current SC. Too much sentimental value to me, my SC is livelier than ever. 97+ kit is on and I have another surprise in store before the end of the year. =)

I have been thinking of adding an IS-F in my stable sometime in the near future, but will NOT get rid of the SC.

Have had my 1992 SC400 since 1995 so I'm going on 19 years (started off as my mother's car, transitioned to my DD, transitioned to garage queen). Sits in a garage in FL for whenever I go home to visit. Essentially stock and running great 250K and climbing. Debating a 2JZ swap depending on how things go with my moving plans.

11 years and counting! With 213k on the OD and still running strong, no point in selling her. I plan on keeping it forever

We've had ours for about 10 years. Like the previous poster, our son took it (we gave it to him with the understanding that if he didn't want it, we'd get it back since we loved it) while he was in helicopter flight school in Alabama. He's not a 'car nut' like I am, and didn't really have time w/his schedule to work on it himself.

Unfortunately, while he had it, it sat out in the Alabama sun (his driveway is too steep to get it into the garage) uwaxed for about 8 months and pretty much was the last straw for the hood paint.

Both window regulators broke on him within about 3 months, so he said we could have it back. We were actually very happy to get it back and drove it from Ala to Va with no problems. I fixed the regulators one weekend.

He ended up buying a jeep (ugh) and a motorcycle.

Our SC has about 220K miles and has only stranded us once. It'd had the dreaded battery/electrical/alternator issues so I was starting to trust it less and less.

One night we took it out on our anniversary dinner against my advice to my wife. I wanted to take the Tacoma, but she wanted to take the SC. So of course we took the SC.

It wouldn't start- just seemed like a dead battery but the batt and alt were less than a year old. I then did the 'extra ground routine" - I added some grounds - Neg Batt to frame and frame to engine. I was under the car and found and cleaned the stock engine to frame ground and it's been rock solid ever since. That was the only time it stranded us...

I'm probably considered "new" in the SC group, going on 3 years...but tell you what, I'll most likely have at least one SC until I die.

Same to you.... Nice color and tasteful mods.

The only thing I have left to do is the LS400 brake calipers; not sure what I will do with rear brakes. May leave them alone.

Going to the meets and being able to sit side by side with some fantastic cars is great fun (like Cleanshot's award winner!!!)
