Dome light comes on, but door is closed.
Lately I've been having this issue, usually overnight when temperatures have dropped to ~5'C.
The Interior Dome Light comes on(if switched to door) just as if I had opened the doors. Thus my Alarm goes off, giving me an alert stating my door's been opened.
However the Door Ajar light does NOT illuminate unless the door is actually opened.
After the car has run a little bit, or the outside temp has increased for a while, the problem goes away.
So I would like to think it may have something to do with cool weather creating condensation, but where, and what causes the car to think a door has opened, but not cause the door ajar light to come on.
I had pulled the seat, carpet and trays under the steering wheel, all last week in prep to diagnose this at 3am or whenever it goes off at night, but as luck has it, we warmed up all week to 30'C and at night was still above 10. Last night I put it back together, and this morning, the problem came back and I looked, 2'C outside..
drove about 10kms by the time the interior light turned off.
I had pulled out the integration relay (box) out and looked inside it, everything seems ok, nothing burnt, melted, etc and really everything works fine, just not when the temps drop to near freezing.
Any ideas??

From what I can see/tell, the harness there is not compromised in any way. and if it were, it would happen not just when cold but when going through puddles, rain, etc etc I would think as its more likely exposed.
But could be a broken wire anywhere I know, but seems odd only when cold, I drove today with the windows down, and without any heat at all turned on, 5'C and the dome light stayed on almost until I got to work, where as it would turn off after 5 minutes of the car being on and heat being on inside.
So it still leads me to think its something inside the car..

turns on when switched to on.
but when on door - its off with doors closed and on with doors on - but when its cold out - and when the car has been sitting for a bit (not running) the light comes on with doors closed when set to door.
but even if the switch is set to OFF - the light stays off, but the alarm goes off as if the door is open - without a door ajar light on the dash, and if I switch the light to door it comes on as if the door is infact opened. and ajar light works as intended, only on when door is actually opened.
so I don't think its the contacts for the dome light - alarm still goes off in night if light is switched to off.
ill keep investigating while I have the car - thinking of just parking it over winter in the barn and not dealing with any upgrades over winter..
