Wheel Color on a Platinum Metallic?
Aloha from Hawaii my fellow CL SC owners!!
I have a 95 SC300 that is Platinum Metallic, and I just picked up a set of AME AX Shallen wheels, 19x9, 19x10 +34 all around (I know, weak offsets )
Unfortunately, they all have slight spidering on the faces, and rather than keep the polish look I've decided to get them repainted; just trying to be a little different when it comes to the "VIP" type of wheel. So my dilemma is what color to go with? Any suggestions on what you think would look good are appreciated I'm also thinking about leaving the lips polished, just painting the faces.
Picture of the type of wheel in question, but not the actual set I have:

Aloha,
There is a 5 page thread on exactly that subject HERE.
Post in that thread to bump it back up. I'd love to see it resurrected as I have a Platinum as well.
;-)
PS: Would having them re-polished work on these wheels? Got any close-ups?
Three favorites.....

I though I remember seeing a thread about this before I'll definitely attempt to breathe some life into it again.
My only qualm with the suggestions on that thread is that black sometimes make the car look like it's rolling on steelies, and the polished look is something I feel is overplayed. Trying to be a little different, but everyone's right; polish really does compliment our Platinum color.

I'm in the act of stripping the clear as we speak

Its one of my favorites with every change he made over time. That is Petesoarer in Findland's EX (the first two pics). Regrettably, he sold it. It was a smoking machine. You should have seen it with the final updates. It makes me consider NOT putting on my shine sides and rear or the Wise lip. There is something I love about a stock body, stanced pre 97' with killer wheels and an OEM lip. I already have the kit so I will put it on, but I feel I may eventually go back to stock. It looks mean and sexy, especially that rounder rear.

Lots of choices....
If you are going to paint them go flat black with bright chrome lug nuts.... Several examples all over these threads... Stroll through the Wheels Fitment thread.....

I've changed wheels and wheel colors on my Platinum Silver SC400 many times through the 6 years I've owned the car, and nothing has looked better then either Hypersilver or Chrome. Polished works too.
