Default Key Won't turn Driver Side Door - 92 SC400

Hi, I am about to purchase a 92 SC400. Silly question, the gentleman I am going to purchase from said today that when he tried to use the key to manually unlock the driver side door, the key wouldn't turn in either direction after he put the key in the lock. He then went and manually unlocked the passenger door, hit the unlock button which unlocked the driver side door, and then he walked around to the driver side door, opened it and got in. He is checking to get a new battery for the key. Is there anything else that might be causing this problem? I didn't see any other threads that were specific to this problem that is occurring.
Thanks, and hope to be driving this vehicle next Saturday!

Electric problem? Centralization?

My locks freeze ALL the time when it gets cold.

My drivers, passengers, trunk lock, you name it. It all freezes when the temperature drops!

This. I had to fill the locks in the SC and our other vehicle last week full of liquid wrench and turn the key a few times. Loosened the locks right up.
