Might be worth getting the ECU rebuilt too.

The symptom your describing could also be from a leaking fuel injector leaking into your cylinder or cylinders after you turn the car off until the fuel pressure releases from the leak.

To test, this, remove the fuel pump relay while the car is idling and wait for the engine to die. Then car off and remove the key before putting the relay back. Then wait overnight and try to start. If it starts easily, then you've got a bad o-ring on one or more fuel injectors.

I'm going to start by doing plugs to see what they say and replacing them is always a good thing to do.

The car was much easier to start today. Sat for two days.

Do these cars have problems with bad capacitors like my 3000gt ecus have?

how old is the battery? check if there is water in the battery if its that type. had this problem last year which stranded me at work a few times. ended up getting a new battery and alternator and ground terminal. i did both same time so it actually could have been either but fixed the issue.

some heads up, when it gets icy be careful of the door handles they can and will snap off if frozen.

yep caps eventually go bad just like a mitsu. mainly ecu and cluster.

Battery has a sticker from 6/13 so it should be good. It only has 400ccas which I think is low.

And dammit, I hate chity 90s Chinese electronics components! I'm sure there's a guide on here on which caps to replace and I can do that here at home, or buy a doner SC ecu incase for some reason I f it up although I replaced the caps on several Mitsu 3/S ecus with luck.

Oh yeah they do lol. When mine went bad 4 injectors would stick wide open once the key was in the on position. They can do a lot of other weird random things too.

Ignition coils...I believe the 400 should have 2, 1 powering each engine bank. If one is dying that could be why the car doesn't hit on all 8 initially

Some days it's fine some it's not, she's been driving it. Injectors aren't leaking, fuel pump, fuel pressure and all that jazz is good. I figure I'll just replace the cold start injector first.

By the way I'm looking for some parts:

Trim piece that goes around the drivers side door handle.

Black projector high beam lights. Since she'll be getting HIDs for christmas I figure having tinted high beam lights would be cool looking. lol.

Climate control LCD screen, and or a link to where I can buy the right one.

Please and thank you guys!

How do you know the injectors aren't leaking? Did you hook up a fuel pressure gauge and make sure it holds pressure overnight? I suggested the cheap way to check if you don't have a gauge, but the proper way to do it is to make sure the system holds pressure after being turned off.

Yeah we hooked up a gauge and it held great pressure for hours.
