Default HELP!!!!!! ELECTRICAL PROBLEM 98 sc300

Ok so I recently bought a 98 sc300 the only issue was the ignition switch that I have jimmy rigged to work on a push to start. Everything was working fine then a few days later my tail lights stopped working it was the fuse when I replaced it the new one blew instantly so I put in a 25amp and it worked. As I was driving home my car started acting crazy my heat stopped working my headlights stopped working and the ext. temp/mpg lcd screen on the dash stopped working. The wierd part is that when I hit a bump sometime everything will work fine until I hit another one and it goes away but it doesn't come on everytime I hit a bump. I'm thinking bad ground or fuse panel what do you guys think

jimmy rigged might be your main problem, also never put in larger fuses then specified. also are you lowered? could be rubbing through your wiring harness under the driver side wheel well

Also, if you didn't correctly insulate the wires from the push start, they could be crossing other wires, which causes a short/fuse blow/ect. What irideBMX said, about the wheel harness, check that out too if you're lowered.

yeah for some reason i kept thinking your wiring harness was getting chewed up or something when you said it happens on bumps etc. your problems may be seperate from each other though.

ok guys so thanks again for the help. the problem was the tire hitting the harness in my drivers side front fender. I rewired everything and its working again but how do I prevent this from happening again because im only on 16" wheels and I plan on putting bigger wheels on it soon and lowering it a lot more.. any suggestions?

shout out to iridebmx you called it first post thanks man

Sorry to bump this, but does anyone know what happens when the wire is chewed up and ruined? What do I do? I know this because the wire that got chewed was a thin black wire. Thanks.

Just redo the wiring exactly as it was.
