ok so ive had this car for about two years and never used it. it kind of just sat at my fathers house but now im putting time into it and ran into some issues. my cd and tape buttons on my head unit dont function at all when i press them, also my antenna wont rise out of the housing i can hear the motor on the antenna working but its just stuck it doesnt budge any help would be greatly appreciated...

Check the DIY sticky at the top of the sc 300/400 forum, for assistance. The headunit might be fine/ok and it might be a fired amp causing the problem.

There is no reason to replace anything other than the antenna. It has a bad gear and there are several universal options. if you can hear the noise you have power to it so it is all good to add the universal ant.
