See the pic attached and you'll know what I am talking about. Can I pull the trim piece off and tighten it, or do I have to take off the seat back and detach it from behind?

I have the same problem. I couldnt figure out how to make them tight so for now I have them in a slip knot. If anyone knows how to do this please post or do you have to just buy a new net?

Just take up the slack, and then tie a small loop knot. I did it on both of my nets, and they look great.

You could also buy one of those little spring loaded things that they use on sleeping bag covers to keep the string tight. It basically has a button on one side, and then you slip the string through it. When you release the button, it clamps down on the string, and doesn't allow it to move until you push the button again. I bet you could buy these things for less than a buck from any camping store.

Okay guys, I don't want to just tie a knot, I want to tighten it from behind. Can I just pull it off - will it snap out?

Try taking a flathead screw driver and GENTLY pry the plastic around the side of the net away from the seat. If it doesn't look like it will come off without damaging something, then maybe you could look in to removing the vinyl hard cover seat back. It might have the net ties behind it.

Hopefully somebody in the board that has a shop manual handy can take a look and see how it is put together.

The seat backs come off quite easy. Maybe a better idea if you plan on working on the nets. There are two screws on the bottom facing upwards. Then clips near the side bolsters that require you to push in (towards dash) and then pull out (away from seats.

Okay guys, here's the fix.

It was just like MW said - thanks buddy! Fold the seat down all the way like you were getting in the back seat. At the bottom you will find two screws that are easy to take out. Now, the tricky part. The clips that hold onto the sides of the seats are mounted into composite board (like a thin clipboard). This means that you can't just pull out on these things or you will bust them up. You need to slide them up toward the dash all the way before pulling them out - do not pull out hard. This is really no big deal at all once you see what is going on, I'm just telling you to be cautious.

Once you get the seat backs off, you will see that the plastic trim piece the goes aorund the outside of the net is held in by a few screws - thus you just can't pull this piece off without taking off the seat backs. Once you remove these last screws, you can start to work with just that U-shaped plastic piece and the netting that threads into it. You will see that knots hold the ends in the slots. All you need to do is pull out one end of the elastic piece at the top that is sagging, take up the slack, and tie up a new knot. I suggest you stick it loosly back together to check your work. If it looks good, then cut off the excess elastic past your knot and put it all back together in the same way you took it off. This is a very easy fix.
