Default 1992 SC400 H3 Cornering lights?

I have a 1992 SC400 with what appears to be the factory cornering light assemblies. I was going to do the "foglight conversion" today but decided against it when I realized my cornering lights had H3's in them. I mean, it wasn't some ghetto made stuff, it has unmolested H3 housings. The metal spring clip, black cap cover on the back that screws on and the whole nine yards. The "cornering lamps" got way too hot when the lights were converted so I disconnected them.

Turned out to be a waste of my time and a really lame day. I just want to know, where or when did those old school SC style corner markers come with H3's? I've been lurking and searching for a while and have never came across this....

H3 bulbs were not used until the real fog lights were put into place in 1995. So, either you have a 95-96 front bumper, someone took the time to modify your stock 92-94 front bumper to fit 95 fog light housings, or someone took the time and did a retrofit.

So to answer your question, "where or when did those old school SC style corner markers come with H3's?", as far as I know, never. You have something strange there. Post pics of the entire front bumper, and the lights front and back.

Thanks for the input. I'm putting a new ignition switch in her today, if I get time I'll pull an assembly and take of few pics of it and my front end. I doubt it's anything special. I'm just interested in seeing what you guys say or what we all find out to be the true issue of what was swapped on my car.

Ok, my 1992 DOES HAVE "Factory Toyota" H3 lights. I guess I'll smoke them today and leave them disconnected. They get way too hot hooked up and they look stupid with just one going during a turn. Here are some pics guys. Maybe this is more common than we think and their are other cars like mine.....

Thats a 95-96 front bumper, hence the H3 bulbs, and the line in the center of the light housings. Your front bumper is not the original one.

Hope that helps with the confusion. Get a set of H3 HID's, and an auxiliary switch and voila, you have fog lights. Upside of this, is you have REAL fog lights, no the fake wanna-be "faux-fogs"/cornering lamps that the pre-95 bumpers have.

You're my hero for stating what I didn't know.Thanks. My car has to be "fixed" off a 5 speed 95-96 sc300 than. Someone added the 3rd brakelight to cover my sub, my hood has a "sc300 2jz emissions sticker" and my gauge cluster is probably too a 5 speed sc300. It's amber with no indicators for gears or traction control.
