Trust me it works though lol. I had the same problem when I wanted to replace my emblems. Friend of mine suggested it and it worked oddly enough. It leaves it baby bottom smooth
Curious why you would remove the emblems to plastidip them? It's easy to do with them on the car, the excess peels right off..

Actually though, I need to spot paint my driver side quarter, the corner of the bumper cover, and reshoot and clear the faded spoiler. It made sense to remove them for that.
EDIT: I should say that I THINK it made sense for that. I'm about to teach myself automotive painting on the SC3. Wish me luck.
