Default sc400 integrated phone use

So ive searched and the answer is no for making another phone work with the stock system.

so has anyone used that stock plug pin and converted it to a 30-pin or a lightning cord to charge my phone/ipod?

I would use it strictly to charge and nothing else, it would be nice just to throw it in the glove box, anybody tried?

I looked into this when I bought my car. It had the "Lexus Phone" system. Bottom line: not really. It's a VERY antique analogue TDMA Motorola system and while you could try to integrate those steering wheel buttons, the speaker under the passenger dash and the mic in the instrument panel... It's really not worth it.

Anything is possible with schematics and electrical knowledge but you need to basically rewire the entire system from the steering wheel buttons down. The antenna isn't really needed these days. I left my cabling installed.

still kind of missing the point, im looking to only charge not anything else.. a ground wire and a 12V wire.

Im currently changing my mind to just hard wiring a USB port from that, ill be researching a hardwire USB kit that only needs 2 wires

Gee, sorry.

Technically you should be able to get that to work but I was unable to get a full +12V signal from those wires in the console. Get a cheap multimeter, throw the key into ACC and start testing connections.

I did try what you're attempting but gave up. Perhaps I missed something. The wiring should be there but here's another thing to consider: I think the Lexus Phone handset and cradle originally used less than a full +12V connection to operate. Don't hold me to this but I believe that's what I encountered.

Alternatively, you can splice your +12V and Ground from the cigarette lighter area and carry those wires up to the glove box area.

that's what i thought, but either way i have to bump the voltage down to 5V to make it safe for charging products, I assume ill have to goto radio shack a few times to get that down to 5V but i know there is a keyed power source to that line, so i just need to figure out what voltage im getting, ill have to find a wiring diagram
