Default aftermarket fuel gauge wiring

Hey guys hoping some one can help me out here. Im in the process of hooking up my AIM MXL unit and im trying to get the fuel level sensor to read.

I am using the Iron Canyon Motorsport fuel sender which changes resistance based fuel sender to a 0-5 Volt signal necessary for use with with almost any data acquisition system that uses industry standard 0-5V sensor input for analog channels

I have it hooked up directly to the fuel sender but I dont seem to get anything out of it.

I figure im on my own here however if anyone has connected an aftermarket fuel sender can you please let me know what wires you used? I tapped into pin2 of the fuel sender harness.

For those interested, I did get it to work but however I ahve to have my stock cluster in place. It seems that the stock cluster regulates the voltage inside and provides 7 volts to the wiring harness. still trying to get it to work with out the cluster in place though.
