Default Will a stock 95' SC400 bumper safely fit in the trunk of an SC400?

Greetings,
Will a stock 95' front bumper fit into a SC400 trunk without damage to it?

I ask because I have never seen or touched it. I purchased the car with a body kit installed but the price included the stock bumper as well.
I assume it is SOMEWHAT flexible because i already have the metal "beam" in my possession.

It is as clean as the rest of the car so I don't want to risk paint damage.

It also came with 4,18 inch SC430 wheels (spatula pies) with Blizzak snows.
I want to drive back up to Boston and get them but I need to get the bumper into the car along with the 4 large wheels in the cabin.

Can I pull this off?

Thanks..

I highly doubt it, the SC trunks are pretty small

Seemed unlikely to me as well.
How big is the "doughnut hole" in the trunk? would an 18 kinda sit in there perhaps if i removed everything else? If I could get one wheel into the trunk, maybe I could get the bumper into the cabin.

Just pull off your front bumper and make the drive there. Once you get there, install the bumper! I've done that with my hood on my previous car haha

Smart idea for the handy! I have never removed or put on a body panel in my life, It's a 4 hour drive home, I'll start off with less pressure to get it right.

Hoodless? Wow, only in rainless So Cal!

I was thinking that may be the case Teal Sc400.

When I did a 95 conversion on my 92 SC I had. I fit it inside the car. You angle it from the driver side rear to the passenger side front, in an upside down 'U' shape. Hope that helps.

YES! That is what i pictured but I am picking up 4 Sc430 wheels and tires at the same time. Still could work but will be TIGHT!

Just fold the pass. seat forward and put it in the back diagonally. It should fit, and if it's an OEM bumper, then it'll have quite a bit of flexibility, so don't be scared if it bends a little.

Thank You.
Thats another configuration to keep in mind. Remember I'll be carrying 4 SC430 wheels with big Blizzaks on the same trip.

it's going to be close. you can probably fit 2 wheels in the trunk.
the bumper pretty much takes up the back seat behind the driver and the front pass seat. i had it totally flat. you might be able to fit one wheels back there...but the 2nd wheel is going to be tight.

if you can get 3 wheels in the trunk then you should be good to go.

feel like driving with part of the bumper out the window?

Interesting thread? lol. First off check the weather for the day you planning on making the drive. Next get you a large box, some painter's tape, a box cutter-seriously, and 3 rubber bungee cords...follow me on this one? This is what I came up with, if you have a sunroof? Some may laugh, but trust me...it'll work?

1. put 2 wheels in the trunk. 2. put the other 2 wheels behind the two seats at a angle. 3. Slide your sunroof all the way in the open position. 4. stick ur bumper thru the sunroof, carefully tilting the bumper up towards the roof of the back window. Part of the bumper will poke thru the sunroof...it's alright. Funny, but alright. 5. take the bungee cords and run them from both sides of the car to support the bumper. 6. take the box, and cut around the bumper, and tape the box around the bumper and onto the roof just in case it rains during your drive back home? 7. tape the other part of the bumper (the section that's sticking out of the roof with painters tape). it will help protect it during the drive-plus it's easy to remove, and won't damage the paint. One alibi, you'll get some strange looks, and a few laughs...but think of it like this, what a interesting story to some day tell your grand kids? LMAO GL and keep us posted?

steve

Your best bet would be to take out the passenger seat and put the bumper inside the car. You should have plenty of time then.

I'm going to measure the trunk tomorrow then get the seller to measure the wheels. This would really help but I'm doubtful i can fit 2. Thank You Mktbully

Kira, That would be quite helpful and likely make the difference. I am going to find a tutorial on removing the seat. I may give that a shot.

I'll also price delivery by a "man with van" type from RI or Mass.
