Default The story behind my SC

Hello, I thought it was about time I posted up my Sc400 and gave a little background info. First off my name is Kress and im 16 years old. I sold my dirtbike (which I paid for myself) and got $1,200 out of it. I was lucky enough to find a 91 Civic hatchback for $1,200 and put the $300 I had saved up to make it look a little nicer. I enjoyed that car but after a month of having it I decided to put it on the market, Not because I wanted to get rid of it but because I was just trying to double my money. Sure enough I sold the little hatchback for $3,000, making a total profit of $1,500! I was searching on craigslist and found a 1992 Lexus Sc400 for sale with only 112,000 Miles I ended up getting it for $1,700 and it runs great, It has the normal issues (burned out needles, bad climate control lcd, ect...) But other than stuff like that its great. I used the money I had left over and purchased a set of Tokico Blue struts and Tanabe lowering springs. So far the mods include the orange part of the taillight blacked out, new struts and springs,Ti rims, I replaced the factory amp because it was fried and replaced the head unit with a Pioneer ghost unit. I am getting the windows tinted within a week and I just picked up a 10'' Kicker comp sub with a Rockford Fosgate amp for $75 that I plan on installing tomorrow. I paid for the car and everything on it myself, the only thing I didnt buy was the rims which were a christmas present from my dad, My stepdad was nice enough to buy a whole new set of tires for it which makes a world of a difference in the ride. I love this car and I pretty much live on these forums now
In conclusion I hope I didnt bore you to death, What I find funny is how the honda back in 91 sold for $6,000 while the Sc in 92 sold for $40,000 and I still cant belive I sold the honda for more than I bought the Sc for!!! I I think I may have made this post to long but I just wanted to properly introduce myself to the ClubLexus Anyway let me know what you think here are some pictures
-Have a great day

Cool story. A quick question though, is it just me or there is no difference in height after lowering springs? From what I remember tanabe springs lower the rear by 1.5" and front by 1.25". Can you show side pics as I am contemplating between lowering springs and coils.

You did very well... I'm impressed and have to give you a thumbs up that you bought a nice SC400 for about HALF of what you sold a civic hatchback for.

That's incredible, but also goes to show you how the cars aren't in demand becuz no one knows about them, but EVERYONE knows about civics etc.

There really isnt much of a difference, the back got lower than it was and the front did slightly but not the drop I was looking for, I wouldnt recommend the Tanabes because for $250 you can barley tell a difference, They are ok for getting rid of most wheel gap but if your looking for a drop I would go with coilovers. Here are some pictures comparing the stock springs to the tanabe ones.

Not too bad, but I think you should go for coilovers.

The springs will settle over time. I have the same springs and after a couple of weeks they dropped more. I'd really like another .5" drop though.
