VIN number question.

You may be looking at the model number, which would start with UZZ-30 . The VIN would start with country of manufacture "J" for Japan, then "T" for Toyota, then followed by a bunch of seemingly unrelated alphanumerics. There are some websites that interpret the VINS for certain makes, the rest of the VIN tells plant, build number, vehicle type, etc.

well, i'm looking at the vehicle title.
Keep in mind this is a Soarer GT.
I was just wondering how many letters/number are in front of the UZZ. According to the title from the DMV... The identification number is UZZ310 blah blah blah. but the number counting from the U is only 12 digits long. I'm just wondering if i ADD the front numbers will it add up to 17 characters...

Apparently you're considering the purchase of this car. You might find some useful info on this site

Dimcorner,
I think the VIN on JDM are only 12 digits long, example mine is JZZ3...(add 8 digits).
In Australia's case, these cars get complied to suit Australian ADR's (which means they dumb down the Soarer) and a new VIN is attached.
