Yeah he did...how many versions does he have now?

A while back I picked up the Hoebag tails that were made for Cherplex's white SC, so unless I go another route you'll see them resurrected within a year or so, once I buy a chassis.

I am actually thinking about another more radical taillight idea, so who knows the Hoebag tails might be for sale sometimes soon...

Can you give me some pointers on the passenger side tail light with the key hole?

Here's how to do it without breaking anything: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...iy-thread.html

...and here's a picture of the Hoebag / Cherplex tails installed on my friends SC300 w/T's Project kit and Signature Evolution lip wing this past week:

you will need to break a retention tab on the clear reverse section. if you do this, you can flex the panel and take it out without having to cut the backside of the keyhole out like some of the other threads mention. once this part is out, separating the inner from the outer is easy like the driver side as there is nothing blocking the large backside of the keyhole.. if you cut the keyhole, it is very difficult to seal it all back together again. even with the broken tab you can put the clear reverse part back in without it coming loose and without anyone noticing it.

i ruined 2 lights trying to figure it out. i have pictures somewhere. i'd have to look.

in post #5 - break the tab that the box cutter is pointing towards.

hope this helps.

Oh so you're saying take out the whole square clear reverse light section along with the keyhole. Nice idea

not along with it - there is no reason to touch the keyhole. the clear reverse part basically blocks the inner housing from coming out because the keyhole tapers outward inside the housing. if you break the tab, flex the housing, and then remove this part, the inner will separate from the outer easily just like the driver side.

Yup that is what I meant- I understood what you were saying. (*poor word choice on my part)
(Yes, not touching the keyhole, remove the whole outer lens along with the middle reverse light clear lens, negating the need to cut the keyhole off.)

I always wanted those taillights.

I got a set of custom 2000 taillights that look similar. I was thinking about making a set where everything is gloss black except the chrome trim.
