Can i get a wood grain steering wheel for my sc400?
My leather one is kinda wearing down...another 10,000 miles and it will be 2 toned...
Any ideas or suggestions would help...

I think best would be to contact manaray, there was a group buy a long time ago for converting our stearing wheels to wood ones, pictures looked great, deal was also great if I remember right. Do a search and you should be able to find the old thread. Actually I did it for you ... here you go.

www.american-stitches.com can recover your steering wheel or do part wood, part leather. One of the Aus' sites show you how to remove your wheel.

I am gone for the holidays but will post pics as soon as i get back. I have a 1995 SC400 with a 97 body kit. I still have an air bag, the only problem was the connectors were different but the dealership sold me the right ones, all it was is a Pos/Neg wire with right adaptors. For $300 i got the wood steering wheel and also the air bag with it from Ebay, probably would of cost the same to restore mine to wood and to send it in would be a shame to wait to drive it again since no steering wheel. Later

Tim, so basically I am going to be using the ES300 airbag with the new wheel instead of the old SC400 one?
How much was the adapter from the dealer?
Does our airbag light come on, etc?
Did they( deaLER) say this would be OK to do?

You will haft to since the air bag style changed to the triangle shape. Ebay sells just the air bag for a fair price if you can get ahold of the steering wheel. beleive me it makes a huge difference in looks. I've heard of people finding an older wood steering wheel from older LS400 and used their exisiting air bag, but not sure if it ever worked. Good Luck.
