Hopefully the needles you grabbed are from a similar year SC. They switched polarity (I think 1995 but you can find it here with a quick search) and that will leave you with useless needles.
The stock needles die due to a design defect so any that still work will soon not.
Getting a rough SC is fine as long as you don't want it to be a show car. I'm happy with mine because I have no desire to make it like new. If that was my goal I would have bought a spotless one to start with. Like others have said, it's a lot cheaper doing it that way.
Nobody wants to pay $2 for a whole SC but the parts will cost you a fortune!

Well I have done A LOT to the sc over the last few days and will post pictures and updates tomorrow night. I do have a question for everyone.
Does my 92 have a chip in the key that needs to be there to start? I am going to install an alarm and need to know if I need a bypass module? Some say yes some say no. Thanks.

Ok finally have some time.
Well on Friday I browsed picknpulls website and they had 4, FOUR sc400s on the yard and a sc300.. So needless to say I jumped in the car and went down to ransack some parts. I got there and found this:
That poor 300 met its fate pretty badly :/... However I was able to snag all kinds of great parts. I got: Oem front lip, side trim, climate control, door handle, key bezel, driver side speaker cover and light, sc400 badge, and a few small things. Then later that day I got to my parents house and began to take her apart. Mainly I was taking everything apart to just clean and get the lay of the land with the SCs, which I really did accomplish. I installed a viper 5901 remote start/alarm system, as well as a pioneer headunit.
Before:
After:
I had to of course hardwire the entire thing but it sounds AWESOME with the 6x9 rockford fostgates in the back. I never posted a picture of them but this is what the previous owner did:
Next I moved onto the exterior:
After all of that I put on an old set of Eagle alloy rims i had sitting around. I will have better pics of those later. Hopefully this weekend I will get her home again and keep fixing little things that are broken all over the car.
A question I do have:
The new CC unit I got is not backlighting when it gets dark, just a bad unit or what?
