What is Your best MPG?
What is your best MPG/
Put your mpg down with your driving conditions. Like hwy, city or hwy and city. ect...
And what year and make is your car?
My best so far is 18.5mpg that is country rd driving with curves and hills and some hwy.
In a 92 sc400. I only had this car for about 1 month now.
I was curious how well everyone else does in the mpg category.

you are getting on your mpg.
I am not asking for anything special like engine specs or anything just simple what do you drive and what mpg.
If you know any of the past post about this and it is as simple as what you drive and what is your mpg, please link it and i would be happy to post there,

Valves have nothing to do with octane, thankfully.
The only thing that gets upset is knock sensors. The ECU will compensate and pull timing as needed to prevent pre-ignition should the motor see any.
I'm getting 27.1mpg post 1JZ swap via the handy gas buddy app. I never quite hit that with a the 2JZ-GE.
I use the car pretty much exclusively for commuting to work which is about ~25 miles away and regularly can squeeze just about 500 miles out of a tank before fillup. Not sure why others are only doing 300's??
Farrrr better than my TrailSS and its sexy 13mpg highway.

I would go to 93 if i were to do a NA-t conversion or a 1JZ VVTI swap
Man 500 miles is nice on a 1jZ. Might look into a swap then?
Dont the LS2 motors get like 30mpg in the corvette? I thought they were good on gas on the highway?
I know RX7 swaps with 5.7 L motors get that mileage. Might have to do with the light weight and possibly tranny

All of you guys but intimazy failed to list engine which makes this thread useless.
My gf's 1j factory 5spd sc300 got 24.3mpg average on a trip to Arkansas recently. That's with quite a few highway pulls too, gotta have fun! That's also with 4.08 gears I believe, and would guess that with 3.90s it would be in the 27 range like the guy above.

The 1JZ alone can't take credit for the mileage. It's the combo of 1JZ and laggy turbo 2.5 liters and an OEM ECU that likes to run in the low 15's to 14.7 AFR makes for a pretty gas frugal setup.
I live in the idle to 3000rpm range commuting and the turbo doesn't do ANYTHING until over 4000rpm. When I first swapped, I was lucky to make 20mpg. It was just too much fun spooling the stock twins in every single gear and from every stop sign. However, the pressures of my new job and the hours i pull don't allow me to enjoy the car much Waking up at 4am to get to work by 5:30am means I'm very sleepy and could really care less about doing a highway pull.

Wow, really guys?? The best I can squeeze out of my '95 400 is 235 miles to the tank, roughly 14mpg from 16 gallons. And that's 100% city driving. When I go 100% freeway I get around 380 miles to the tank. I'm doing my cam & crank seals today, so I'm gonna have a chance to check the timing. I've done fixed and changed every possible part that can contribute to mpg.

Two of the largest threads in the sc forum are MPG threads. Please use search. Just because you got here 2 weeks ago doesn't mean we haven't extensively covered it and this particular subject is a dead horse it's been beaten so much.
Spoiler: most people average 16 mpg, higher or lower is possible.
