A little more work done this weekend...

Installed dash, replaced passenger window regulator, installed black painted wood panels, installed passenger door panel.

I didn't do the swap myself, a local builder did. Try to get the manual gte vvti ecu, otherwise you will continually burn through ac compressors. The auto gte vvti ecu will work but like I said you will have problems with the ac eventually needing rebuilds.

I'm not on a single turbo, I'm still on the stock turbo's with a tuned gte vvti Mines ecu.

This is going to be your best thread when it comes to information on a gte vvti swap and going single: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...t-gt3582r.html

Good Luck!

A little more progress. Something I wasn't prepared for...the airbag does not fit a 92 SC300. The bar behind the dash blocks it, so I needed to find a way to cut away at the back of the air bag. I was a little hesitant at first, but what the hell. (I do not recommend that anyone does this as I'm probably lucky it didn't blow up in my face)

Here is a picture with the airbag charge removed. It was pretty easy to remove. There was one lock washer and one larger nut on the other end and it slid out.

The I cut off the back of the air bag. I will add pictures soon of the back cut and piece installed in the dash.

As someone that's been doing slow and steady repairs to mine, I wish I had your testicular fortitude to be taking apart the interior How hard was it to replace your regulator? That's my next project and I've read that DIY thread so many times it makes my head hurt. Also, as a fellow fast blinker club member, did you replace the bulbs with LEDs? I've been looking for which bulbs to use and can't seem to find a concensus on the forums...

All that said, awesome build man! Its stuff like this I see that gives me the drive to keep mine going. Good luck the rest of the way.

The window regulator wasn't too bad. door panel and the window trim comes off easy enough. You need to be really careful with the window trim as the little plastic pieces that hold it in is really fragile and can break off. The regulator is held in on my 1992 by 6 nuts on the door. I really didn't look up how to do it, I just went ahead and did it. It was a little pain to figure out how to slide the window in way to get it back on the new regulator, but I was able to do it without instructions. I would say look it up on the forum. I'm pretty sure there is a link to a DIY in the mega thread list that would make it easier for you..

As for the rear tail lights, I just cut and rewired the bulb sockets to the appropriate points. I still have the fast blink, but it works, and that's all I care about for now. Once I start to fine tune little parts of the car, then I'll tackle that issue.
