wow i cant believe this thread hasnt been locked and removed by mods
But to side here my sc was running 19in wheels on 245/45/19 for a bit
then recently couple months ago I changed to 17inch wheel on 235/40/17 and I noticed not a huge but noticable difference in off the line acceleration ..
getting lower profile tires and or bigger wheels will not make you feel a huge amount of difference in acceleration but you will notice some off the line starts..
SCROLLINSD- dude you need to log off the guy asks a simple question and you rag on him for it then act like a child by making fun of a profile pic?wow dude mustve been raised on a farm

^^ actually, I responded civilly and appropriately, which was initially, the fact that no, switching from oem wheels to 17's isnt going to be that big of a deal. it has been done a million times. the discussion changed gears, and he started saying things that made him appear like a petty douchebag with an over inflated ego, like he knows better than me because he is an "engineering major" and then giving me a verbatim formulaic explanation of "velocity" and treating me like I'm a moron, so I simply called him out on all that. because it's bull****. If he's so far superior to me or everyone else in here and already knows better, then why is he making a thread asking us to confirm his suspicions? go calculate your angular velocity and figure out your gain/losses and don't bother asking us if you're just gonna disagree with common sense all day. nothing more. and yeah he looks like a jersey shore guido in his profile pic, I can't help but notice it all fits his archetype so perfectly. Normally I wouldn't comment on that but at that point I was tired of his BS.
I tried to stay on topic with this thread but it's just so pointless that it hardly justifies existing.
for the record, I'm usually a very peaceable guy around the forums and like to help and get along with everyone, but when people start **** with me and condescend, particularly while trying to prove a point that is laughable like this, doing it the way he did, I'm probably gonna have a few words to say in return. just where I'm coming from...
and obviously you're going to notice better handling and throttle response when you switch from massive 19-20s down to a more oem spec size, which is kinda why I mentioned in a previous response that the proper specs are generally calculated from the factory and should always be considered when switching your setup. and wasn't even the initial scenario that was inquired about at this threads beginning.
