What are SC 400's really worth today?
I'm looking at a 93 SC 400 and I don't believe the Kelly Blue Book valve for it is in the $4000 range. Are these cars really worth that much? I'm having a hard time understanding how they get such a premium price for being an older car. If the KBB price isn't accurate, just what would such a car go for today? Thanks in advance.

You're paying for a bunch of 'L's on the car. Yes, you can find an SC for less that $4K but in the end, you're going to be replacing lots of parts. Take a look at the price of replacement parts before you dismiss that $4K car because a $2K SC will quickly become a $10-15K car worth only $4K.
It really IS better with these cars to spend the extra initial cash to get a good car that's been taken care of.

People will pay twice that for an 80s Corolla or some Civic hatch but somehow a SC just isn't worth that? Any vehicle that's not ready for the junkyard costs $4k or more. Retired police cars with 250k+ miles sell for $4k with all their holes, dents, and decal residue.
Whether the SC you're looking at is worth $4k or not depends on its condition.

You guys are kidding me right? No wonder no oldies are responding to this thread because of how you guys think. I'm not even gonna explain what I said since its obvious that you didn't do any research....
EDIT; So far MooJohn & BradHoff are the only ones making sense.

I have a guy who tries almost every month to offer me $$ for my sc which He started out at 5k I flat out told him that was an offensive offer now he is offering in the 10k range to which I am still saying no, I will just hold on to my SC for ever as the rareness of the RSP/black combo will pretty much never surface for me again.
I think in a few years they will get over this "hump" in the selling price values.

Wow.. believe it or not, your question was just answered but you've failed to comprehend You should respect the fact that you received a valid response to your question. You just joined the club and your already being disrespectful
I have the same response to your "thread"... ITS A LEXUS!
Stop believing your opinion of what you think this car (which you obviously know nothing about) is worth.. believe the facts

OK People, lets be nice....
I think if it is in good shape and appears to be in good condition, it is worth. I bought my 92 400 over five years ago and it was only 2K. I stole this car, due to the shape it was in. Now the book value has went up, alot. JMO. Do your research, and see what others say about the car. I think you will make the right decision, keep in mind, it is a LEXUS!!!
