some damage
Hello,
I was driving my car today on a wet road and I ended up sliding off the road a couple of feet. I went over a little tree type thing and mowed it down. The car seems to have no damage so far except for the passenger door doesn’t open all the way because the edge of it hits against the edge of the front right fender. It seems like the fender is bowed out about .5cm. what do you think this means? What might have caused this? You don’t think this means some type of frame damage?
Thanks for the input

it's possible that your frame got tweaked, but it's a lot more likely that your body panels just got tweaked and twisted.
unfortunately, when you're talking about such a miniscule frame damage, you might not even be able to tell with your naked eye, and the only way to know would be two things: get the car's frame checked somewhere where they have a frame alignment rack, or, replace the fender / door and see if that fixes your problem.
you can do a few things on your own, like checking the frame rails, though there can be frame misalignment that won't necessarily be visible there either. you should go get a suspension alignment, and see if afterwards your car is pulling or behaving squirly or just feels different.
I wish I could help but it's pretty hard to say given the information we have from you so far.
My inclination is to say its the fender though, it's a lot more pliable than the 7ton doors on the SC. >.< check the bolts where the fender meets the upper frame, see if theyve been moves out of place, stretched, bent, etc. theres a lot you need to do on your own to diagnose what happened to your car.
pics would be helpful though.

so, it turns out i overreacted. i basically, just the front right fender got tweaked. i think it hit the ground (dirt) pretty hard and pushed the bottom of the fender up, but because it is bolted in on the top, it bend outwards a little bit. this is why the door wouldnt open. i ended up unscrewing teh top and bottom of the fender and i pushed in and worked it until the rood could open and close without rubbing and the hood closes. Its not perfect (the gaps between panels arent all perfectly equal, but it should do).
and yeah, it really wasnt too awesome of a crash. it was more like me sliding off the road going a couple miles per hour and coming to a stop in the dirt.
thanks for the concern though
