Want to replace stock Nak 4" speakers only...
I have the nakamichi system. Currently I am running with the 4 front speakers and the subwoofer only since my rear speakers are out and have been since I bought the car.
I am OK with the nakamichi sound and do not need anything more, but I would like to have all the speakers working. Therefore, I want to replace the rear speakers and while I'm at it I figure I should replace the 2 front door speakers as well. I'll leave the tweeters alone.
I was just going to get some 4" for the front and back after reading anything was better than stock.
Then I started reading about 2 ohm, 4 ohm, 8 ohm, you should put 6.5" in the back, don't put any other speakers on a Nak. system other than nak. speakers, etc.
All this got me nervous. What should I do, 4" for sure in the front doors, what in the back deck? Will simple $40 Kenwood, JBL, Pioneer, etc. speaker work?
For only running the door speakers and tweeters and a sub...I think the nak sound is pretty good.
Advice???...and yes I did use the search button.
Thanks.

Alright, here is the low down the amplified system does run to 2 ohm speakers you can replace them easily. you will just lose some high end volume. That is it, it will cause the amp not to work as hard which means it will be producing less power. I would recommend either the infinity kappa or reference series, or trying to find the boston acoustic se45's. The kappa's are 2 ohm, and the reference are 3 ohm, the boston's are 4 ohm but not very power hungry.
I hope this helps you out.
