Default installed my IS300 steering wheel

got an airbag from Gazi for 120 bucks

airbag wires are both yellow on the AIRBAG side of the airbag electrical plug, but blue and yellow on the clock spring side of the airbag plug, so you just match up blue to blue and yellow to yellow as your SC airbag was. no explosions when i hooked the battery back up

real crimps and heat shrink, like a boss.

and for anyone curious about the cruise control, i have a definitive answer for you:
had to re-use the SC300 cruise button, as the IS300 cruise button is completely different and uses different resistances. there's really no way to make the is300 cruise switch function 100% correctly with the SC without soldering new resistors into the cruise switch.

One of the best upgrades for 92-98 SC is a three spoke steering wheel. Nice job!

Wow, you are a brave man!

When I upgraded to a 3 spoke steering wheel, I purchased the airbag adapter instead!

Nicely done.

That looks really nice. I have been tossing around a lot of different steering wheel ideas in my head. I generally go for Momo products but I couldn't see it matching the luxury coupe feel of our interiors.

Can you give a little more info on the cruise control resistors?

i posted the wiring diagrams in the other is300 steering wheel install thread (you may want to just search my posts).

alldata doesnt show the is300 resistance values (only the ones for the SC300). you'd have to get the IS300 ones from the FSM, but they are definitely different. just read through that thread for more info.

Thanks, Max. I got this car to save some money and pay off student loan debt, hence the auto trans :-)

I won't do another manual swap unless it's a getrag v161 (which would have to involve me winning the lottery. Haha). I'm not a fan of the Toyota manual transmissions.

Looks great! I just replaced mine a couple of weeks ago with a 3 spoker from a 200 GS 300. I agree, it looks 10X better.
