Soarer/SC300 stereo
live in Australia and recently I imported a 1994 Toyota Soarer from Japan. Inside this vehicle was a Matsu****a radio/cassette player, model number 86120-24250.
I have just purchased a CD/radio/cassette player, model number 86120-24260 which is also designed for the Soarer however, the plug at the back does not match the one in my car. Does anyone know if an adaptor is available to allow the 86120-24260 to fit the plug of the 86120-24250.
Also, I have looked inside each unit and identified some of the components. I'd appreciate it if someone could answer the following questions.
For the CD player - model 86120-24260:
There is one 15 pin plug. Could someone advise what is on each pin.
For the Radio/Cassette - model 86120-24250
There are two plugs, one with 6 pins and one with 10. Again, could someone advise what is on each pin.

That's funny because the first time I read it I thought you were so embarrased that it was Matsus.hita that you bleeped it out.
There is probably no way there is an adaptor. I think you will end up having the dealer get you both the wiring diagrams for both models so you can wire it up. Another option is to buy an amp off of ebay or whatever for your new stereo (pioneer line in US?) and make sure it comes with the harness and then re-wire your car.
You can probably sell your old Matsu**** system and make that money back. Those stereos on ebay go for a lot. An Sc300 Cd changer (just the changer) went for over $200.
