These Mustangs have only one thing going for them and that is power capability.

They dont look good, they dont have the luxurious feel the sc's have, they arent built as well, they are not rare , they really dont have much in their favour.

A mustang with 161 k miles does not appeal to me at all.

I vote for a pass.

I have read all these opinions, but I have to say keep the Lexus for driveablity, performance at a stock reliabilty standpoint, and you will be missed on here... lol

Why are people taking this so seriously?

I would do the trade. Keep the Cobra for a while and play with it, it looks super clean. I might consider having the engine and tranny checked for leaks before trading, too. Even if you decide you don't like the Cobra you can always sell it with time and get back into a Lexus. Good luck.

i agree i would miss CL mostly but on a side note i decided to keep the Lex. i even showed her love by running down a skunk! Oops! lol Seriously I did hit one and it atleast didnt damage my car or make it smell. I drove my car last night at 10 pm to Houston and back. I have to say the trip made me love her more. great cruiser sold and quiet. I do appreciate the info and opinions. They where all great! Anyway my next goal will be 5spd swap to wake her up.

I woulda traded in a heartbeat. an early 90's sc goes for 1500-2000 all day out here. mine was 1800 and doesnt look its age at all. Anyway. the mustang would be cheaper to maintain/fix, less things to take a **** and need replacing and if you trade and dont like it just sell it and buy another sc...use the leftover cash to make it faster than a stock cobra.

I would not trade for that particular car since it has been crunched in the rear quarter. Those cars do sound awesome with a decent exhaust and actually make good power for their displacement. FYI, the cobra R would be the rarest sn95

My gawd, I have never read so much BS in a thread in my life. CL get your head out of the stinky place. 94-98 mustangs were weak. This guy has what should be a pretty quick SC that we all know looks better. I have won races against that model mustang in a 95 Nissan Maxima.

Latest quick street stang that I ran in my 1.5JZ was eaten by bus lengths. The Mustang really isn't worth much with the mileage and the damage history(like a 2003 or something rustang GT all decked out).

Keep what you have. Or go for the grass that turned brown on the other side.

I didn't know a car that struggled to get out of the 14s was a "fast" car. Sure, you can spray or blow them but it's not like there's no aftermarket for the 1JZ, and it's not like you have to first put the 1JZ into the car. The hard part is done! Making more power is stupidly easy from this point on. I wouldn't swap my beat up 400 for a clean non-Terminator Cobra even if you put cash on top of it.

The Mustang *is* cheap. It was cheap new, it's cheaply made of cheap parts, and so what if it's cheap to fix? I haven't found my SC particularly expensive to work on so far.

no harm intended, Just saying i dont see any x5 beating even a 96-01 cobra they are still no slouch. all aluminum engine and 300+ hp and torque to match.
