Like a few of you know, I'm havung a problem passing emmisions. I'm going to try and piece together a tune-up kit and hope that helps. Seems like everything else is a lot of $$$$, pretty much what spark plugs would/do you use, wires, and distriputer caps? Thanks everyone

OEM is usually the best way to go in my opinion. Try and find a oem toyota parts distributor online, their prices will be much lower than the dealership. Or contact one of the toyota parts vendors on supraforums.com , Curt is a good resource.

what is the issue that you are having? Too high of CO, NO, etc?

work on finding out what your issue is before you spend money on a "tune up" when it could be something else.

When I did my tune-up I used NGK Platinum Spark Plug 7088, NGK Ignition Wire Set, Denso distributor rotor, Denso distributor cap, Toyota oil filter and Mobil 1 oil. Spent around 100 bucks for all that.

Start off with air filter, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Then consider PCV valve, fuel filter and fuel injector cleaning.

Of course, using some high octane gasoline could always help.

You have a sc300 or 400? Look around for deals. I got The wire set from Amazon for like 38 bucks. Distributor cap and rotor for around 15 bucks online (forgot where). Oil filter was 6 bucks. Plugs were 16 bucks for the 6. And mobil 1 oil I got for 30 bucks from pepboys. Total of 105 bucks.
