Default Coolant leak...what to do

So when I fill up the coolant is starts to drip out of the long piece behind the clutch the cooling fan connects to due to a crack. Upon starting the car the drip turns to rushing coolant. What is that piece called, and is there a temp fix like maybe jb weld I could use until I replace said piece. here is a pic

From what I can see, it looks like the water pump housing is cracked. Dont bother with a temp fix, do it right do it once...otherwise, it may leave you stranded and left with bigger issues.

Just replace the water pump and be done with it.

How many miles does this engine have on it? While doing the water pump, you should do the timing belt too if it has not been replaced already.

You can't tell if a timing belt is bad by looking at it. Sadly, they are not like drive belts. It's their internal structure that fails, not the surface. Sometimes they can look frayed, but most of the time the belt will look great, then BOOM, it gets ripped apart from the inside.

Are you saying this is the original timing belt at 182K miles?

Probably. But I don't think you can replace just a housing. The pump comes as a complete assembly.

just do it all and then you know what you have ,,, that pump i wouldnt even try running the car like that if it lets go over heats motor looking at possible head gasket or head damage,, way more money than doing it now and doing it right the first time..

Lol. Im amazed how much of a project this is turning into. I with the pump woulda been cracked when I was looking it over, then I'd have really got this cheap.
