Default how long did it take you to find your sc?

Hey guys I was just wondering how long it took you guys to find your sc. I loved this car since I was 10 (Im 18 now) and I bought a 98 sc300 last year. Ive been looking sinve summer of 09, and by looking i mean checking newspeapers craigslist and other sites once every two days so it took me about a year to find it. How long did it take you??

To me it didn't take me long at all. Originally I was looking for a supra for months.. been checking craigslist multiple times a day. It was a bit out of my price range but maybe I coulda gotten lucky. I saw a supra go for 8k and was sold within 24hrs..

For the sc dad was also helping me find a car. He talked to his friend and he told my dad that his relatives wanted to sell him the sc when he wanted a honda instead. So I ended up buying it pretty quick. It hasn't been driven in about 2 years. Then I swapped the engine with another and rebuilt that. Sometimes it's about the people you know...

In summary... I had no intentions of getting an SC. But it fell into my hands after like a week or 2.

Took me 2 days...not even joking, and really wasnt even looking for a car at the time. Got rid of my last s13, was getting a ride from a buddy of mine to go look at a truck and bam there it was. 1992, single owner, 73k original miles, perfect...the next afternoon I was driving it home and didnt know anything about it.

Took me a few months. They seemed a lot harder to find when I was looking back in 05'. Now they're everywhere for dirt cheap.

Now I'm having trouble finding a Gs400 :/

It took me about two weeks. i was very specific about the condition of the car. I must have looked at over one hundred cars. Many of them in person

It took me about 2 months to find my SC in SoCal. I loved it so much, I shipped it back to Hawaii. SC's a pretty common in SoCal compared to Hawaii, specially 5 speeds.

I bought my car without even driving it. I had seen it for sale at a concierge dealer i was familiar with and went and signed the papers the papers. (lol)
er
The first time I drove it was after it was mine and I was leaving the dealership... I did however test drive the 355 berlinetta they had.

It took me about a month and a half to find my SC(searching only on craigslist and autotrader, and maybe around the neighborhood for "For Sale" signs...and man I tell you...after searching though like 12 SC I had given up all hope because all of them where beat to hell or something major was wrong...

**Side note** I think this will be the first and last time I buy a car from craigslist...ppl always take the pictures in a way that you can't see the major problems or they post pictures of when they first got the car, making you waste your time coming to look at a piece of crap

So checking one last time on Craigslist (for whatever reason) I saw it a 92 sc300 5SPEED "FOR SALE" I had to jump on it, it the first 5-speed Ive seen since my search...but I prove myself right again...the pictures did not reflect the actual product but it wasnt to bad so I said WTH, and knock'd off 400 on what he was asking

I've always admired SCs but never took them serious enough to buy. I had just sold my S14 and I was looking at a Miata. The deal fell through so right after the guy left I see a sandstone SC with a phone number written on the rear mirror. After a year I sold it to an old friends little brother.

After coming back to Miami I was looking to buy an S13 vert until my friends little bro calls me from left field letting me know he's selling the car and thought I would like to buy it back before anyone else buys it. The S13 was perfect but it was $200 more than the SC and i was NOT going buy an S13 over an SC. So in short , my SC fell into my lap on both occasions and now I actually look through Craigslist for SC400s to compliment my SC300

Zero seconds. Never even knew what one was until I test drove it. I had seen one in red back in 1993 in the showroom and was smitten with it, but didn't remember the model number. About a year after I bought my SC in 2002 it hit me that the car I was drooling over was a renaissance red 1993 SC400 with a gold package new on the showroom floor in June of 1993.
