my ball joint on the drivers side is going out and none of the parts stores can get one and its 860 doll hairs for a new one from lexus and im not gonna pay that. any idea where i could get a lower control arm for cheaper....or know if the ball joint alone can be replaced.

Mine went out a few weeks ago...........had to buy a used one from some guy on here,waiting for it to come in the mail..............these things are too expensive.

They are expensive because the ball joint is not serviceable. It's honestly a waste to trash the arm when the ball joint goes bad but no one has made a serviceable ball joint yet.

How do you know if it's the balljoint going out and not the bushing?

it wanders, creaks and pops when low speed turning. If you look at it and see a torn boot its either bad or on its way out!
