Default OEM or Non-OEM evaporator core/expansion valve

I have a leak in my evaporator core, and so I am converting it over to the new refigerant as well as fixing the leak. I need to get a new evaporator core i will get a new expansion valve as well.

I am looking and it looks like I can get an new non-OEM evaporator core for about $60. I can't find the OEM part, and the one I did see was $500+. I seems like I should be able to get the evaporator core and expansion valve for less than $100.

Do I need to buy OEM, or can I just get the replacement parts from say Autozone, etc.

Thoughts?

Let's 704 keep 554 in 1100 touch. I'm putting in a non-OEM evaporator into a 2004 GX470 (Everco) and I'm still trying to get it out.
