Magnaflow disappointment...
Just had my new Maganflows installed. Removed the rear 'resonators'. Had them install 3 inch pipe all the way back.
Problem..I'm very disappointed in the sound. Not nearly loud enough. In fact, you can barely tell. Sure, there is some nice tone down low. But thats about it.
Will probably have to have the front resonators removed. But damn, it's been like 5 bills and all I hear is a slight lower tone at very low RPM's...
And no, I didn't expect a mustang, but I did expect a little more sound...
And yeah I saw the video (lex?) posted a while back. I don't sound nearly that loud...at least from in the car...and yeah I know there is a lot of sound dampaning in a lexus...
kinda sucks spending all that $ ..for a little tiny bit of tone and no real horse power gain....

Who told you Dynomax is a copy of Flowmaster? First of all, Dynomax is part of Walker, they've been around longer than Flowmaster has. Second, the two mufflers use a different principal for scavenging the gasses through...
krypto, once you yank the frt resonators I think it'll be plenty loud for you. You had 3" piping installed all the way back? Sounds nice, would like to see some pics.

Krypto, try the Magnaflow inline resonators. MadMax has them on his SC400 and it produces quite a bit of noise. The Weapon-R exhaust sounds pretty damn loud on an SC300, BTW. I heard them on Hermosa's SC3. Krypto, how was the piping done on your car? dual pipe cat-back? Y-pipe cat-back? Did you touch the midpipe or down pipes? Because it sounds like the only difference between yours and mine are the pipes? Unless you have an SC300?
Initially I wanted even louder 5.0-like exhaust, but after driving my friend's Dodge RAM pickup w/ Flowmasters on a roadtrip, I quickly changed my mind. I also drove a friend's Civic Si with loud, droning Greddy exhaust and that one went into headache mode real fast as well. I wouldn't mind my exhaust being a liiiiittle louder, but I think it sounds fine as it is now. I am always curious about the Flowmaster straightpipe applications used on Camaros and Mustangs, but I'm too afraid it'll be obnoxious loud.

as long as the cats are in, i don't see it getting super loud
as for the Magnaflows... I'd like to say this:
"WHAT DID I SAY?!?!? WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!??"
hehe, i remember the old magnaflow discussion before where I said they wouldn't be very loud (or not loud enough for me)
my Dynomax Ultraflow knockoff circular muffler and 3" piping kicks ***...
I think Abutler969 is the only person on this board thats heard it.

Hey krypto, maybe your mufflers need some more break in time? After all they are brand spankin new. I remember when I first got my mufflers, they were pretty damn quiet as well. They are slightly louder now or maybe I've just gotten used to them?? Anyway, I'm happy.
