Default just exhaust tips/ stock mufflers haha

Well I've been thinking budget lately esp since my car is nothing special and Im just going for LOOKS.

Has anyone just cut off the tips of their mufflers and put like a 4-5 inch tip on it? it would visually just look better without being "ricey" or do my fellow SC'ers disapprove of this idea?

If you want to do that, at least upgrade the can to a Magnaflow. It's what I'm planning on doing. The previous owner installed a full custom exhaust from headers back, but he kept stock tips for a stock look. I'm having the tips cut and putting on 5" rolled tips.

Lol get the whole muffler but i dont see anything wrong with doing this unless the tips are oversized and as big as the muffler itself ....aftermarket mufflers with some nice tips will look way better tho ive seen it done here and looks great!

definitely not a dumb idea. As long as you dont get too ahead of the idea and throw on some extra large tips. Its been done before and looks very tasteful and far from RICEY.

Alot of these aftermarket axel back exhaust have some bad tips so its best to do it with that rather than your stock that way you can just put the stock back on if you need to and sell the exhaust

Why would somebody laugh at a guy for swapping out an old part on his car?

The tips on my car are less than perfect and although im looking into doing the whole muffler i dont see anything wrong with your idea at all.

Go for it if you dont feel like changing the whole mufflers out.

I bought some muffler tips a week and yet to have them installed. They are about 4" or 4.5" in diameter. Even though I have a stock muffler I have no cats and resonator being that my car originally is a 400 but with a 1j. So my car moves well I just don't want any noise in my head until I figure out what good quality exhaust pans I want to spend on. But atleast it will take some shame out of my eyes for the time being. I'll post up pics when I get them on.... So keep your mind open to it BMX

It's not a bad idea at all. Quite a few people use Honda S2000 tips.
